Haslam Abroad
International Business Major
What Is
International Business?
International business includes all commercial activities that produce and distribute goods, services, technology, capital and knowledge among countries around the globe. Increasingly, industry is hard-pressed to find professionals in any business area with desperately needed global business experience. Students must apply to the IB major in the spring semester of their sophomore year to gain admission.
International Business
Career Opportunities
International business graduates help firms understand cross-border political, legal, economic, social and financial issues so they can succeed in a global economy. They possess necessary knowledge and specialized skills, providing a worldwide perspective to help companies maintain high performance in the current and developing global business environment.
Because the Haslam international business program is a double major, students are uniquely prepared to add immediate value to organizations. The technical skills of a functional major are leveraged with the ability to understand and contextualize the added complexities of international and cross-border work.

- ADVANCE their foreign language skills to the greatest extent possible
- EXPLORE international business issues and opportunities
- PARTICIPATE in student organizations and clubs
- VOLUNTEER in their community
